Beyonce opens world tour!

If it was Beyoncé’s wish to grab the attention – and the headlines – on the opening night of her Mrs. Carter tour, she certainly succeeded.   While her bootylicious body alone is enough to catch the eye – the singer took no chances as she graced the stage in her raciest costume yet.   Beyoncé, 31, stunned concert goers in a gold sequin-encrusted bodysuit adorned with a pair of trompe l’oeil breasts – complete with protruding nipples – as she stormed the stage in Belgrade, Serbia on Monday evening.

Although the singer started her career in clothes designed by mother Tina Knowles, she enlisted the help of some famous friends while putting together the wardrobe for her latest extravaganza.   British designer Julien Macdonald designed pieces for Beyoncé’s wardrobe.   Likewise, Emilio Pucci creative director Peter Dundas and Dsquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten, and Ralph and Russo are also said to have collaborated with the pop idol.   Footwear impresario Stuart Weitzman contributed the entirety of the dancing diva’s shoes.

After shimmying and strutting in the racy fringe-lined, sequin-covered piece, Beyoncé slipped into a second bodysuit.   He told People magazine:’I’ve been doing shoes for so long for her, we’ve learned what she needs,’  that includes heels ‘of a special width for her to dance on’ rubberized soles ‘so she’s not slippin’ and slidin’ around’ and extra padding inside.   He added: ‘She really is interested in the way the shoe feels on her foot.   ‘She absolutely has the impression of not being willing to suffer, no matter how the shoe looks on her foot.’

The singer put Weitzman’s shoes to work as she channeled Wonder Woman in a mesh-paneled bodysuit, which featured gold rope detailing and a PVC trimmed peplum skirt.

The ensemble also included a leather collar and matching wrist cuffs.   Later, a harem of dancers in complementary skirted suits flanked the Single Ladies performer.   A crimson gown fastened at the chest by a gold pendant provided a bold pop of colour to an otherwise monochrome collection.

Still, black-based bodysuits seem to be the Halo crooner’s go-to ensemble, as she strutted in two more such pieces before ending the evening.   One piece provided full-body coverage, allowing Beyoncé’s voice to shine as she was illuminated by a single spotlight.

Meanwhile, another star-studded suit featured a waist-cinching belt and accentuated the singer’s shapely legs.

Beyoncé has 64 more shows on the tour which will see her travel across Europe, North America and South America.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker had been due to play eight English shows starting April 29th and more May, but following popular demand she has now added three more gigs to her tour.

Beyonce’s UK itinerary now includes additional appearances at London’s The O2 on 4 and 5 May, and the Manchester Arena on 9 May.

This brings the pop sensation’s total number of shows in London to six and Manchester to three.   She will also perform two gigs in Birmingham.  The former Destiny’s Child singer will then take a month’s break before returning to the stage at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on 28 June.   Beyonce will perform on 3 August in her spouse’s hometown of Brooklyn, New York.   Australia, Asia and Latin America will be included on the second leg of the tour, which will run for over a year.   Her last show is scheduled for September 13 in Brazil.

Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams Show off Slim figures!

They’ve pursued separate career paths to differing success since their Destiny’s Child heyday.   But on Sunday Michelle Williams – dubbed the ‘third wheel’ in the RnB band – managed to keep up with her bandmate Kelly Rowland, in the wardrobe department at least.   The singers, both 32, wore strikingly similar skinny denim trousers and sky-high heels, with Michelle gaining some extra height points over Kelly in a particularly vertiginous pair of grey platforms.

The duo were spotted arriving together for an afternoon party at Bagatelle restaurant in West Hollywood, California.   Kelly and Michelle looked in great shape, with their skintight jeans showing off their sculpted stems and toned derrieres.   Switching up the way they dressed up their denim, the R&B singers chose different pieces to accompany their bottoms.   Michelle paired her trousers with a loose-fitted black blouse and studded zip-up leather jacket.

She added a chained, multicoloured statement necklace that blended nicely with her top, spicing up her otherwise simple outfit.

Kelly, meanwhile, chose an eye-catching vibrant yellow sweater, layered over a white tee.   Sticking to a spring palette, she sported nude pointed-toe pumps and added some glam with a large green ring on her right hand.

The temperature had certainly dropped from where their weekends were previously spent.   ‘Enjoying this lovely Spring weather so much! Check out my look from yesterday’s “Women Who Rock” event,’ Kelly tweeted with a Pinterest link to a photo of her ensemble she wore at the Hard Rock Hotel during Coachella music festival.

In the snap Kelly is captured in a sheer white halter dress, the same green ring, gold chain bracelets, delicate gold necklaces and a pair of oversized sunglasses.   As the Motivation songstress soaked up the desert rays, Michelle basked under the Arizona sun.

Since collaborating in the famed girls group Destiny’s Child – which reunited for their first time on stage since 2007 during the Super Bowl halftime show in February and simultaneously released a new album called Love Songs – Kelly has become the second most notable member, following Beyonce.   She has gone on to record more R&B songs in the spotlight and acted in films such as Think Like A Man, as Michelle has maintained a lower profile.

Michelle has strayed away from her R&B roots, but found her niche in the theater world, appearing in Broadway plays such as Aida, while sticking largely to gospel and Christian pop tunes.

Beyoncé said of the campaign: ‘I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind.   ‘It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial.’

Donald Schneider, Creative Director of H&M, added: ‘H&M’s summer campaign starring Beyoncé is an epic fantasy, with glamour, drama and also a sense of paradise.   ‘It was amazing to watch her on the shoot make it all look effortless – a quality that makes her such an icon for women around the world. The campaign is the essence of Beyoncé, and also the essence of H&M this summer.’   And Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design for H&M, said: ‘In the campaign Beyoncé is wearing the key pieces from H&M you need for life in the sun this summer.

‘There’s the perfect bodycon dress, as well as a flowing sun dress that makes a real statement. And of course there are the bikinis, especially the fringed bikini.

‘What makes these pieces even more special is that Beyoncé herself had input into the design, and they are full of her own personal style.’   The images of the singer, which will be featured on billboards and editorial adverts worldwide, see her billed as Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M – referring to the star’s upcoming Mrs. Carter world tour.   The new H&M campaign will hit stores and online from May, and features swimwear and beachwear pieces as well as a tie-dye bikini from the H&M for Water collection.

While the braggadocious new track addresses her absence from the music industry and asserts her authority as Queen Bee of the charts, the content of the music is already causing controversy and dividing fans.

One listener wrote on Twitter: ‘This song makes no sense, is randomly offensive, and is way out of Beyonce’s lane.’

Another fan tweeted: ‘how can u sing at the presidents inauguration then release this disgusting, offensive song @beyonce? I’m genuinely shocked.’ (sic)

Other comments included: ‘The new Beyonce song is horrid. Unnecessary swearing, offensive misogynistic referencing of women, and terrible music and vocals. 0/1000.’

And another: ‘So much for female empowerment.’   And Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills who tweeted: ‘Is that Beyonce song a joke?’

Plenty of the Destiny’s Child star’s fans welcomed the new music with one listener writing: ‘Sorry I’m not sorry that @beyonce is a trend-setter and doesn’t sound like everyone else.  It’s about changing the game #beyhive.’

But some fans suggested that the singer hadn’t gone far enough and if she was a male music artist she wouldn’t be on the end of such criticism.   One fan posted: ‘Miss me with the “she’s so arrogant” mess. Were she a man, this would scarcely be an issue. Beyonce isn’t arrogant enough. #BowDown’ (sic).
