Soaking up the sun in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Tuesday, the Glee co-stars were evidently keen to ensure the 30-year-old actor is back to full health before returning to the showbiz buzz of Los Angeles.

The couple seemed happy and relaxed as they enjoyed a bite to eat together, chatting away companionably as they ate lunch surrounded by palm trees. And it would appear there was a spiritual element to their sunshine break, with Lea telling her Twitter followers she hoped the holiday would help her ‘rest up mind, body and soul’.

She tweeted: ‘Sailing off on another adventure… Putting down the electronics for the next few days.. Gonna rest up mind body and soul! See u soon!’

The 26-year-old actress covered up in a stylish white fringe kaftan as she chatted away to her co-star beau, while protecting her eyes from the Mexican sun in a pair of dark shades.

Meanwhile, Cory opted for the casual look in a yellow T-shirt and navy blue shorts as he enjoyed some quality time with his doting girlfriend.

This was the latest break for the couple, who jetted straight back to Cory’s native Canada immediately after he left rehab.

Cory – who has been clean since going to rehab at the age of 19 – was reportedly led astray by his Hollywood friends and started drinking and taking drugs at parties at his Hollywood Hills home.

The Glee actor, who plays Finn Hudson on the comedy-drama, was written out of the last two episodes of season four after he ‘voluntarily’ admitted himself into a facility for ‘substance addiction’ in late March.

Cory previously revealed he first entered rehab when he was just 19, and encouraged others struggling with drink and drug problems to seek help.

Speaking in an interview in 2011, Cory said: ‘I don’t want kids to think it’s OK to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous actors, too. But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it.’

Lea has largely been credited with encouraging her boyfriend to check into rehab before his addictions got out of hand. She said at the time: ‘I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.’
